Completed in Painter with some PS touch ups, the image has taken 18 - 20 hours over a 1 week period and the final image has now had the finishing elements added. There is a story behind the work and the image though that has been saved for the publication.
I keep creating skin brushes in the hope that i will improve when creating skin textures. I have quite a few good brushes which I created in PS which i use with differing layer settings to get the build up - freckles, liver spots and moles etc...I am quite enjoying it.

This is my latest work - Songbird. While browsing the net I came across a picture of a beautiful Chinese girl (I believe she's a fashion model) and wanted to paint her. Her face was both captivating and fascinating to look at.

Here is what I painted....

Composed in PS CS3 extended and painted up in Painter X. The working document size was 7500x5000 @ 600pixels/inch.
For this piece I used a soft airbrush, the just add water blender, pencil variant and the burn & dodge tools.

Time taken x number of hours over a 3 night period. Open to crits.

Thanks for looking.

Anathema

Anathemis, so named for the hatred that people feel for her and her race. Hunted like wild animals by keepers of the myth, a species close to the edge of extinction. Elders would have you believe her and her kind to be mythical, urban legends or none existent....but they live, they roam and they feed.

Completely realised PS CS3 Extended, this image has taken about 15 hrs to create. A lesson in depth and colour manipulation from start to finish.

Warrior: Elizabeth

Yes, this slight, somewhat shy girl, haunted my dreams. A killer for sure. The rebel soldiers had given her the dictum so many Mezzark warrior women live under: “Kill, or we will kill you.” She tells her story in a rapid-fire, hushed monotone—as if rushing to deliver a memorized passage from a tale too awful to really think about. And that it is.
She is only now 18 years old: as a 13-year-old soldier she killed grown men. Abducted from her home by the rebel soldiers as a small child, she is now rebuilding her life in northern Mazan — a woman by day, an assassin by night. In the run of her life, she managed to escape from the brutality of the rebel army only to return to her village to find her parents dead. Elizabeth swears revenge on the rebel general who brought such pain to her life.
This piece was created in Painter X, with some texture touch ups in PS. It initially began life as a lesson in texture blending but I became transfixed with her and wrote her short history.

Hope you enjoy it. C&C welcome.

Thanks.
There are so many talented artists work on display in the galleries and I thought I would create my own fantasy piece for my gallery on CGS. In all honesty, I could have gone into detail much more with this piece as I am sure some of you regulars may well point out. The image was created using various brushes, blenders with colour touch up in PS. Comments and Crits welcome.
